Innovation at SSR

Bring the next porcine material opportunity into the real world.

SSR welcomes practical ideas, technologies and market opportunities that could create new uses
and greater value for porcine tissues, fluids, organs, bone, skin, fat and other co-products. Whether
you are exploring an early concept or bringing an established capability, share a non-confidential overview so we can determine whether there is a meaningful fit.

Opportunity Pathways

Start with what you bring.

You do not need to fit a traditional supplier or customer category.
The best starting point is simply telling us what you see.

I have an application or product idea.

You see a potential new use for a porcine material
or ingredient and can explain the problem it may solve.

I have a research opportunity.

You are investigating a question, method or application that may benefit from porcine materials, technical input
or a supply relationship.

I have a technology or capability.

You have a process, platform, equipment, facility
or expertise that could improve how a material
is collected, prepared, transformed or used.

I see a market need.

You know a buyer requirement, specification
or unmet demand that could be supported by
the right material or process.

Where could new value
be created?

Strong opportunities connect a specific material to a credible use,
technical advantage or customer need. Potential areas may include:

  • New methods for collection, separation, stabilization, preservation,
storage or handling.
  • Value-added ingredients or fractions with defined functions
and specifications.
  • Biomaterials, research tools, diagnostics and device-related applications.
  • Nutrition and other targeted functional applications.
  • Engineered materials, composites, packaging concepts and
sustainable alternatives.
  • Validated buyer or channel opportunities for underused material streams.

Materials may include blood and plasma, bone, skin and hides, organs
and glands, tissues and membranes, fat, collagen, gelatin and other
porcine co-products.

What makes an opportunity
actionable?

A polished proposal is not required. A few practical details help us understand the opportunity and route it to the right team.

  • The porcine material and preferred form, condition or specification.
  • The use case, problem, customer or market.
  • The current stage and any research, testing or buyer interest.
  • Processing, handling, volume or scale considerations.
  • Regulatory, safety, quality or sustainability considerations.
  • What you would bring and what you would need from SSR.

Original thinking is welcome. Clear context simply helps us assess it faster.

How it works.

Number 1

Share a non-confidential
overview.

Tell us what you see, why it matters
and what kind of conversation you
want to start.
Number 2

SSR reviews
the potential fit.

We consider the material connection, operational requirements and research or commercial relevance.
Number 3

The right team
follows up.

When an opportunity warrants a deeper conversation, we may request additional information or connect you with the appropriate SSR contact.
Number 4

Qualified opportunities explore a next step.

That next step could involve material or supply planning, feasibility discussion, technical review, buyer validation or a broader collaboration.
Submitting an opportunity does not create an obligation, funding commitment, partnership or guarantee of follow-up.

The challenge opened the door. The invitation remains.

The SSR Innovation Challenge was created to reach beyond our existing network and invite new thinking about porcine materials and co-products.
It generated new connections and surfaced ideas worth considering.
The formal challenge has ended, but SSR continues to welcome thoughtful opportunities with practical research, technical or commercial potential.
